A Comparison Checklist for Browser Research
Use a final comparison checklist to verify the goal, shortlist, evidence, total cost, missing details, and next action before deciding.

Check that the comparison answers the right question
A comparison can be accurate and still answer the wrong question. Read the goal first. Does it describe your audience, use, and constraints? If your priorities changed during research, update them before relying on the ranking.
Confirm that every shortlisted option remains eligible. A course with an incompatible schedule or a tool without a required integration should not quietly survive because it scores well on less important factors. Separate non-negotiable requirements from preferences.
Check the evidence row by row
Use this source checklist:
- The pages describe the exact plan, variant, or offer.
- Important claims have a source you can open.
- Dates, regions, and eligibility conditions are preserved.
- Missing information is marked as unknown.
- Reviews and vendor claims are labeled appropriately.
For consumer purchases, the FTC's online shopping guidance offers additional checks for sellers and offers. A comparison tool can organize the evidence, but it does not establish that a seller is legitimate or replace checking the transaction itself.
Check the tradeoff and the total
State the decisive tradeoff in one sentence. For a fictional tool comparison: “A costs more upfront, but its documented export format avoids the manual handoff work required by B.” If you cannot write a sentence like this, the recommendation may still be based on a vague overall impression.
Recheck the total using a consistent time period, currency, and quantity. Include required extras stated in the sources and flag unquoted costs. Do not let an annual-equivalent headline or a different product variant distort the result.
Check what you will do next
Choose a concrete next action: confirm a missing term, run a trial, request a quote, or make the selection. Save the review date, source links, and rationale. This record makes it easier to update the decision without reopening the entire research process.
In Tabmeet, use the selected tabs to create a brief, inspect the decisive differences, and save or export the result. If a single unknown could reverse the choice, use missing-information checks. If the evidence is sufficient but you keep browsing, use a stopping rule.
